#Update 1 on SICW

The school crèche has nearly 200 children from age group of 2.5 years to 4.5 years. The school begins at 9.00 am with an assembly. At 9.30 the children are given breakfast of porridge and a fruit. Classes begin around 10.15. am. All classes are in the form of play method. The children are taught to read and write through pictures, games and singing which they enjoy. We have trained teachers who make these classes very interesting. At 12.30 lunch is served to the children. They are fed with nutritious and balanced food. Since all these children come from very low income families, their lunch is probably their only proper meal for the day. School gives over at 1.30 pm when the children are collected by their parents to go home.

Below are some pictures of the children having their meals. The second picture is of a teacher giving a parent an ID CARD of the child. The last picture is a class in progress.

Each year, about a million children in India are orphaned. In more than 30 years, SICW  has served destitute, abandoned, orphaned and special children and has placed more than 3,000 children in loving homes across the world.

The Society is committed to do all it can for the all-round development of underprivileged children.

From placing children with loving families, to educating them, providing vocational training, ensuring medical treatment, counselling services, facilitating pediatric heart and eye surgery and helping to raise funds for Thalassaemia.

A strong support network of wellwishers, sponsors and donors in India and abroad has really been the foundation of SICW growth. The journey so far has been challenging and fulfiling, but SICW have miles to go and the needs of helpless children are endless.

FECIF supports the „Society for Indian Children‘s Welfare“ by donating 1% of the collected membership fees.
